Q: Can I renew my road tax and car insurance in advance?
A: Road tax and car insurance can be renew 2 months in advance prior to
expiry date in any JPJ offices, post offices or online.
Q: Can I renewing my road tax online?
A: Online road tax renewal is done by third party. You may log on to MyEG's
website and complete your renewal comfortably at home or at the office. This
service is hassle-free, time-saving, cost-effective and accessible at any
time. You can also choose to have the road tax delivered to you. Of course,
you need to pay for the service and delivery fees as well.
Q: Can I renewing my road tax without purchase insurance for my vehicle?
A: No, car insurance must be purchased prior to renew your road tax.
Q: Can I renew my road tax if I have outstanding traffic summonses?
A: During the renewal process, Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan online service
will check any outstanding summons and blacklist records at both JPJ and
PDRM's database systems. In order to proceed with this renewal, it is
necessary for you to make payment for all your outstanding traffic offences
recorded.
Q: Road tax for my vehicle had expired for more than a year, what are the
procedures to renew it again?
A: If the road tax of the vehicle not been renewed for more than a year,
the vehicle should be taken to Puspakom to do the vehicle inspection.
Inspection Report (B2) will be issued. The owner / representative of the
vehicle must be present to JPJ offices together with the B2, original
vehicle registration certificate and payment to 're-activated' the road tax.
Q: Road tax for my vehicle had expired for more than a year, I need to
take my vehicle to Puspakom for inspection, can I drive there?
A: The owner / representative must make the application for a temporary
traveling permit for your vehicle at JPJ offices. Please made sure that you
have purchased insurance for your vehicle before you submit your temporary
traveling permit application.
